Hi,
We all do know about that famous house beer, called De Garre.
Brewed at bry. Van Steenberge exclusively for Staminee De Garre here in the centre of Bruges.
It comes at a heavy 11 vol%, which is a 0.5 vol% more stronger than the regular Piraat, Gulden Draak, etc... (actually, they could be the same in strength  )
Only Gulden Draak Imperial Stout and Steenezel from the same brewery beats that figure with a 12 vol%.
The thing is that De Garre tripel becomes more and more widely available these days.
Alot of foreign beer pubs, incl. some in the USA are already offering this beer from tap too.
And! It is available from bottle as well.
This makes that exclusive "only-available at De Garre" non existent anymore.

Recently, we went out for a great dinner at nearby castle of Ryckevelde, to enjoy a dirt cheap Social Deal experience.

We paid about €58.00 for two people, incl starter (two northsea shrimp croquettes), côte a l'os with pepper sauce, Dame Blanche as dessert.
The drinks needed to be paid though.



That côte à l'os was really from a too much, but oh so delicious!!
There were already two slices of meat on our plate. So, that picture is even not the complete côte à l'os!
That Spanish wine was also amazing !! Came at €28.00, but worth every euro.





Crispy small fries with  the obligatory mayonaise (ofcourse), and a nice salad.



When looking at the drinks menu, I suddenly noticed the availability of De Garre tripel.
The beers are not that cheap over there, but that €5.50 for a Garre was still an OK for us.
I also noticed that "Twee Kastelenbier" from tap at a small 25 cl.
That one we skipped, and will be tasted next time we go there. Where it is brewed, and how strong it is, is a mystery to me. We'll soon find out.

Not true, when you believe the brewery.

Anyway, we had a splendid Social Deal experience at the castle of Ryckevelde.
A castle that was built between 1913 and 1929 by order of Baron Raphael Gilles de Pélichy.
What a fantastic location to go for food and drinks!
We sure will go back --- 100% sure
