HOOGSTRATEN POORTER 

Porter from Sterkens, brewed at du Bocq, with an ABV of 6.5%. Last tasted in 2004.

Pours a deep dark ruby burgundy, with a huge frothy creamy head. Good lacing.

Malty spicy hoppy aroma.

It's thin bodied, and nicely carbonated. Sweet malty, and hoppy, with milk
chocolate, caramel, background spices, and orchard fruits. Not massively complex
nor much depth of flavour but overall a smooth and very easy drinking brew, which
is far more of a session beer than a sipper, and indeed not bad for the style.
