Hi,
Finally the city of Bruges has updated their Visit Bruges website with adding a nice beer section  t_u

https://www.visitbruges.be/nl/eten-en-slapen/bier
English: https://www.visitbruges.be/en/eat-and-sleep/beer

That really took some time, but the result is satisfying.

Cheers,
Filip

Hi John,
Indeed a GREAT idea !!
I also love the history section
https://www.visitbruges.be/en/eat-and-sleep/beer/history-of-beer
This still needs some small tweakings, but it is already quite complete and above all, correct.

Also very nice to see that they use de picture of the defunct Bruges' brewery 't Hamerken staff group shot on top of the page, dating 1929!
Here above is the original picture!
That can be seen too on the www.thamerken.be website, which I run, and are gladly member of.

The visitbruges history section really needs a link towards the 't Hamerken website. They are working on this by now  t_u

It's so important to preserve the beery history of Belgium. Thanks to efforts like yours Filip it is in good hands. I really enjoy reading and learning about it, as well as other beery history around the world. Non beery history is important to of course   ;)

Definitely true John !!!
VERY important is also the future of Belgian beer.
I'm very worried about what is happening lately.
0.0% Beers are so vastly promoted here in Belgium, but also abroad.
The more and more I notice that alcohol is considered a very unhealthy ingredient.
That is true ofcourse, but only when consumed without moderation.
But I also read that even one glass of beer/day isn't healthy too, and that really concerns me alot.
Especially the beer scene has been targeted. Other drinks like wine and spirits are not that affected, which I find to be very weird.
ZERO alcohol beers can actually destroy our rich Belgian beer tradition in no time :ohno-1:
Cheers (with a non 0.0 Duvel, and already waiting for the Duvel 0.0 to be launched. damn)
