Hi,
Another beer from brewery Wilderen has been approved.

This time, no barrel ageing, but simply the basis beer.
Cuvée Clarisse - 9.2 vol%.
Cuvée Clarisse has been recognized as the world's best heavy dark beer at the World Beer Awards in 2018  :o

More trophys from Wilderen !

What more can I say than that this trophy is 100% justified.
What an amazing beer  :appauding-1:
Actually, it is not that heavy. It weighs in at a 9.2 vol%, which isn't really considered that heavy here in Belgium.
This beer reminds me of the finest Trappist or abbey dubbels. Similar to Rochefort 8, Westvleteren 8, Sint-Bernardus 8 ... in that league.
It's amazing how balanced all the flavors are.
A creamy dark beer with aromas of spices, hops and dark fruit.
Flavour features sweet notes of caramel, well balanced with malt.
A good amount of bitterness on the finish.
A perfect foam retention too. That's a 10/10  :appauding-1:

Actually, there is only 1 negative point to mention  ::::::(
That glass was finished way too fast. Yes, that delicious really  yummy

Cheers,
Filip
