TOURNEE TRAPPISTE® will be a taste and experience festival, in which Trappist® products will be placed in the spotlight.
On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June 2022 (from 11 am to 9 pm), beer club 'VZW The Beer Pilgrims Vleteren' is organizing a unique event. In addition to just about ALL Trappist® beers in the world, Trappist® cheeses and Trappist® wines are also offered for tasting in and around the De Sceure hall, Veurnestraat 4 in Oostvleteren, Belgium. Every Trappist® brewery will have a stand where the beverages can be tasted and where information about them can be obtained. There is also a cheese and wine bar, where Trappist® cheeses and Trappist® wines can be purchased. There is a sales stand provided by Trappist® Tribute De Kloostergang, where beers, glasses, chocolate, mustard, and more tasty Trappist® items can be purchased for take away. In addition, there are 3 food stands (meat, fish and veggie), where each chef will offer two dishes, each containing at least one Trappist® product.
Products from the following abbeys are offered for tasting: Westvleteren (B.), Westmalle (B.), Orval (B.), Chimay (B.), Rochefort (B.), La Trappe (NL), Zundert (NL. ), Engelszell (AT.), Spencer (USA.), Tynt Meadow (UK.), Tre Fontane (IT.), Achel (B.), Mont des Cats (FR.), Cardena (ESP.) and Lilbosch ( NL.). The event will go ahead with the approval of the ITA (International Trappist® Association).
On the site next to De Sceure, the Vleteren Tourism Office is simultaneously organizing a craft and arts market.
The entrance to all this is completely free. Beer will be served in tasting glasses of 15 cl. The tasting glasses, together with a program booklet with all information about the products, can be obtained for the deposit of 5 €. Upon departure, the glass can be exchanged for €2 if you wish.
