BAB have just posted information on next year's Bruges Beer Festival.

It will take place on the 12th and 13th September and as a bonus it will tie in with the 20th anniversary of BAB.

Hi everyone

Well folks today is my birthday (another year older  )

Amongst the wonderful gifts from my amazing family was a rather special Mead and tucked away inside my birthday card from Linda was this piece of paper.





Bruges Beer Festival here we come, we fly out Thursday and fly back home the following Monday. After missing out last year we're super excited to be returning to our No1 destination.

Once again we're staying at the picture perfect Duc de Bourgogne (which is already fully booked) it's such a beautiful hotel and in the absolute perfect location.



Here is that rather special bottle of Mead, from Superstition out of Prescott, Arizona. One of the very best Mead producers in America
Superstition was the very first Mead I sampled (their Blue Berry White) at the Mikkeller beer festival in Copenhagen back in 2021 and have since been fortunate enough to sample many more from several different producers...they're mind blowing stuff.

The bottle is Grand Cru Berry, a 13.5% Blackberry, Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry and White Chocolate Mead aged in Fundamental Observation, Iridium Flare and New American Oak barrels...ooooft.







When I open it (in February) I'll be sure to post it here

Well it's a little later than February but like the saying goes "good things come to those who wait" and boy was this worth the wait.

Superstition - Grand Cru Berry...13.5% Blackberry, Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry and White Chocolate Mead aged in Fundamental Observation, Iridium Flare and New American Oak barrels...#282/336





Pours just like berry juice, it's almost coulis. MASSES and MASSES of dark stewed berries, sweet vanilla, oak barrel, dark berry jam....I could sit here all night just smelling this magnificent Mead, it's one of the very best I've had.

I can't wait until MBCC as Superstition Meadery (plus others - Marlobobo, Abyssal) will be in attendance, you can guarantee that I'll be in line glass eagerly in hand.

That looks fantastic and your tasting notes are so mouth watering.
I'm not that familiar with meads, but that could change soon.
Actually , They are quite difficult to find over here.

Excellent planning !!
About the beerswap.
At this point I'm not sure if that will happen again.
I'm still waiting for Rudy to have more news.
Also, I'm not so much involved in that great event. I only do the picture report and also the event publish on Facebook.
I'll keep informed when more info arises.
