Hi,
We just booked our next vacation for the first week of November.
That'll be the Netherlands, more precise at former island of Walcheren.
Brewery Kees, Baardaap brewing, Emelisse are there, so, that sure shouldn't go wrong I think.
Stay tuned folks.....
Cheers,
Filip

Sounds like that will be some beery vacation Filip, not familiar with Baardaap brewery but Kees and Emelisse need no introduction (Kees Bubberman being the link) two fantastic breweries producing some really big beers.

You both have a great time  t_u

Cheers
Jay.

Jay,
Me neither. it seems their beers are brewed at Stadsbrouwerij Middelburg.
A city brewery offering a load of different home brewed beers: https://stadsbrouwerijmiddelburg.nl/biersoorten.html

They have a beer at 10 vol% with the name "Bier met ballen" (beer with balls). My kinda stuff really  t_u

Another strong beer at 12 vol% !!

Hopefully they will have it readily available!  F_C

The good thing is that there is a cosy tasting room attached where one can have a drink and eat.
Quite an essential visit !!!

Cheers,
Filip

Hi,
The pictures are ready, and published inside another YouTube movie.
I must say that we actually have missed alot, and this just because many establishments were closed!
Stadsbrouwerij Middelburg, Emelisse (=Stadsbrouwerij Slot Oostende), restaurant De Brouwerij (Emelisse), beer pub De Vliegende Hollander, to name a couple.
But still we sure had an amazing trip to that beautiful part of the Netherlands.
Actually, there was more than enough beer (too much really), and many were from excellent qualities.

Enjoy the virtual trip to Walcheren folks  t_u

BTW.... I never saw so much ancient cannons in my life, and .......... the farth sound inside the small "Duvel from tap footage" is not what you think it was  ;)

Cheers,
Filip

Great report Filip! I like how you sync the music to the changing of the pictures, very stylish. You even synced the "farth" sound to the rising of the bubbles in the Duvel glass.   :appauding-1:

Cheers! - John

Hi John,
It's always a bit tricky to sync the beat to the picture change, because at some point, when the beat changes more rapidly, the pictures change too fast as well.
At that point, some tweakings need to be done.
Cheers to the Duvel farth  :zdrunk:

Thanks guys,

Here is a better picture from the beer choice at Café Bommel (Middelburg)
Actually, this is quite a great choice.

And here are the beers I bought at Drankengigant XXL

It was quite a big surprise to see that Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barelywine was available at not an expensive price.
This is undoubtedly one of the ever best Citric hoppy barleywines in the world.  :Manger:

The big 500ml cans of Atlas 14 (14vol%) and Gulpener (10vol%) were just for curiosity reasons though  :eyes:

You see, I always go for the "Zwaar Geschut" beers, yes the heavy ones. My preferation....always.

The last picture I wanna show :

Probabaly the best food we had during our staying.
Taken at a Chinese-Indonesian restaurant (http://www.denieuwepauwmiddelburg.nl/), and that's just round the corner of our first hotel,.i.e. Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Arneville-Middelburg.
You won't believe this, but we only paid €32.00 for the whole thing.
An amazing Indonesian Bami Goreng table, with such a rich variation. Ofcourse, we could not manage all. We sure would be dead.
Imagine that the 2 pieces there on the left side were chicken legs, and in the front also left side, deep fried plantation nuggets.
There was Rendang beef too, and another kind of beef stew. Indonesian style satés with spicy peanut sauce, etc....
The leftovers (which was huge) could be taken to the hotel. A highly satisfying experience which begs for another try.
BTW.... their beer choice is zero to nothing, so we tried a glass of red wine  ::)

Cheers,
Filip
