Trappist

Hi,
It's always a true pleasure hitting Bruges' (Sint-Michiels) beer pub De HOPtimist.
Thomas & Daisy are doing such a tremendous job to make this beer pub such a cosy enjoyable beery experience  :appauding-1:

My starter!
Adriaen Brouwer Oaked at 10 vol% and at €4.50.
A true value for money beer with an amazing woody flavor.
Sweet, malty, creamy, dense, perfumy, and above all indeed that wood aged flavors, just dosed in that right balance.
Wauw, what a starter this was  :Manger:

Our second beer was a Trappist Orval, a young one, at 6.2 vol% (More precise it actually is 6.8 vol%), and at also €4.50.
Today, De HOPtimist offers this nice Orval cheese platter with Wostyntje mustard at about €8.
No hesitation, a pairing was ofourse on order !!  t_u

We were sitting a bit at the front of the bar. Normally, we always sit at the end, but yesterday it was so crowded.
Next to me, hanging on the wall, there is this sign.
Yes, they are Orval ambassador. BTW....also La Trappe ambassador. FYI
It was just that perfect moment together with the sign above my head, and that Orval cheese offering, that makes the savoring experience totally complete.
This also made that beer savouring reaching towards that other level  :zicon2_beer3:

We thouroughly enjoyed every second of that gastronomic experience....
Trappist Orval is still such a masterpiece.
It was the young version, so it didn't had that much perfumy estery Brett aromas, but the Bretts were still easily detectable.
More hopppy than the older ones, which are also on the menu at higher prices.

Anyway, again a fantastic beery experience at De HOPtimist, a place everyone should visit when hitting Bruges for a good Belgian beer.
