ICHTEGEMS GRAND CRU  t_u  t_u

Flemish Red/Oud Bruin from Strubbe, with an ABV of 6.5%. Last tasted in 2010.

Pours a deep ruby burgundy with a creamy frothy head. Good lacing.

Unique and slightly strange aroma of oak, caramel and malts.

It's thin to medium bodied, and nicely carbonated. It's not particularly
complex, but it's balanced, and there's good depth of flavour. Very smooth and
easy drinking. Hints of sour, ascetic acid, balsmamic vinegar, apple cider
vinegar, caramel, pine and oak, but it's dominated by the dry but sweet milk
chocolate and toffee apple throughout, matching the aroma to a degree, which
is a shame as the other expected flavours aforementioned don't really
develop enough.

Cheers!
