A nice 6.5 vol% beer from brasserie de la Senne
Details: https://www.brasseriedelasenne.be/bruxellensis?lang=enBruxellensis is refermented for several months with a wild yeast of the Brettanomyces type of Brussels origin.
Amber with copper reflections, its fruity attack (pineapple, red fruits) is supported by aromas of hops, added cold, and complex notes of old leather, almost animal.
A gourmet malt touch then develops, with biscuit nuances and a persistent fruity aroma, tending towards confit. Its finish is dry and bitter, its character is unique.
Nosing and tasting immediately gave me Orval!
The Bretts are so permumy, and the barrel-ageing gives it that extra woody touch.
Orval OTOH is more hoppy, except for the aged versions, which I think come very close to this beer, albeit not barrel-aged.

Ofcourse it is not really rotten, but actually very ripe, just "before" the stage of being rotten. heavenly !!!!
