BLANCHE DE LIEGE  t_u  t_u

Wheatbeer from Abbaye du Val-Dieu, with an ABV of 4.9%. New brew for me.

Pours a slightly cloudy pale golden blonde, with a good sized frothy creamy head.
Some lacing.

Aroma of wheat, grains and hops.

It's thinnish to medium bodied, and nicely carbonated with a slightly fizzy
mouthfeel. There's some compexity with grains, wheat, malts, hops, spices and
fruits especially citrics, and it's sharp and crisp when coldest but unfortunately
it's a bit one-dimensional with the citrics ultimately far too dominating, so
it's not that rounded or balanced either, but there is good depth of flavours
especially for the low ABV. Disappointing, as I was expecting more from this
wonderful brewery.

Cheers!
