QUINTUS  t_u  t_u

Bitter Ale from Mount St.Bernard Trappist brewery ( England ) in
collaboration with Round Corner Brewing. ABV of 5.2%. New brew for me.

Pours a golden amber with a small bubbly head. Almost no lacing.

Dry bitter malty aroma.

It's medium bodied and with a slightly flattish carbonation,
probably as usual for this style. Not much complexity, but it's
balanced and has good depth of flavour. It's dry and bitter throughout,
as well as being earthy, hearty, fruity, with malts and hops, and even
a little smokiness in the background. Nice brew!

Cheers!

Trappist

Interesting beer Viv !!
I wonder if this can be classified as an ATP Trappist product??

Hi Filip,

Good question. And exactly what I was thinking when I was tasting
it.

On the back label it says "Trappist Brewery" but there is no ATP
logo on either label.

Their website looks to have not been updated for a while so
doesn't mention any possible changes since they were approved...

Yet more MYSTERY !!

Cheers!

Trappist

Viv,
I've never seen the ATP logo on other collaboration brews with Trappist breweries.
The La Trappe "Practise What You Preach" didn't had it either or the one made with "Chateau de l'Horte".
Simply, because they do not fit to the criteria.

Hi Filip,

You are right about the collaboration brews.

I have a bottle of Tynt Meadow Blonde and there is no
ATP logo on there either...

Cheers!
