Christmas brew from Trojan Schrems in Austria, with an ABV of 7.2%. New
brew for me and first from this brewery.

Pours a deep golden blonde with a large frothy bubbly head. Great lacing.

Medium bodied, with perfect carbonation. Silky smooth rich and luxurious
texture and taste. Complex, balanced and good depth of flavour. Malts,
spices, hops, caramel, toffee, honey, butter, grains and herbals. Very
easy drinking and with a dry slightly bitter finish. Excellent brew!

You don't see a lot of blonde Christmas beers, and ones with a relatively low abv like that. Your description sounds rather tasty though Viv.

Cheers! - John

Hi John,

It's a European Bock beer. Basically a stronger Seasonal offering,
that most Breweries brew, for Christmas and/or May. They can either
be blonde or brown in colour.

They do have plenty of complexity and depth of flavour even though the
ABVs are not that high, as you mention. More session-type than sippers!?

Generally they are extremely good brews, this being a perfect example.
