GOUDEN CAROLUS FUNKEN         

6th brew in the Indulgence series from het Anker, an Amber beer brewed with peated malt, and with an ABV of 8.0%. New brew for me.

Pours a deep golden amber with a good sized frothy creamy head. Good lacing.

Smoky malty peaty aroma.

It's medium bodied, and perfectly carbonated with a rich luxurious smooth and creamy texture and taste. Refined, complex, layered, balanced and with a good depth of flavour. Lots of malts, some hops, bogmyrtle, grains, florals, jam, and lots of smoky peat, with a long dry and bitter start to finish. If you like Rauchbiers/smokey beers you will love this brew. Excellent stuff!
