DE KONINCK OUDE KRIEK  t_u  t_u

Oude Kriek from de Koninck, brewed at Boon, with an ABV of 6.5%. New brew for
me. ( first Kriek tasted since 2016! )

Pours a deep ruby burgundy with a good sized bubbly frothy head which dissipates
fairly quickly to leave a residual throughout. Not much in the way of lacing.

Fresh, crisp, tart, fruity- especially citric and cherry, funky, bretty aroma.

It's thin to medium bodied, and perfectly carbonated with a soft slighty fizzy
mouthfeel. Some depth of flavour and some complexity but overall maybe too
subtle although it is very easy drinking. There's lots of citric and cherry,
lemon, and acidic, sour, bretty and funky but it's probably all a bit too lacking
in depth of flavour and too subtle. Below average for the style.

Cheers!
