DE LA TAUPE BREWER'S DESIRE  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

One-off brew from Timmermans, with an ABV of 7.5%. New brew for me.
La Taupe brewery was renamed Timmermans in 1959. It's a brown beer with added
brettanomyces which is then aged for 2 years in oak barrels.

Pours a crystal clear golden blonde with a good sized bubbly frothy head. Not
much in the way of lacing.

Bretty, sour, sharp and malty aroma with honey.

It's medium bodied, and well carbonated with a soft fizzy effervescent bubbly mouthfeel. It has a nice complexity, and is strongly flavoured with good depth, and balanced, and it's very smooth. As its coldest it's quite sharp, crisp, sour, acidic, bretty, and slightly puckering, and quite lambiccy, but as it warms it does mellow considerably, so we then get honey, grains, pine, oak, fino sherry, caramel, fruits coming into play too. Sweetish, with a drier finish. Wonderful brew, and it's a shame that it's a one-off brew.

Cheers!
