ROCHEHAUT HIVERN'ALE  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Winter beer from Rochehaut, with an ABV of 10.0%. New brew for me.

Pours a ruby amber with a good sized creamy frothy head. Some lacing.

Herbal floral spicy hoppy aroma.

It's full bodied, and nicely carbonated with a soft light filling mouthfeel. At it's coldest it's fresh and crisp with lots of florals, herbals and hops. As it warms more malts appear along with lots of fruit, especially berry fruits, figs, raisins, sultanas, caramel, candy, vanilla and grains, plus some medicinal herbals, plus spices. It thickens up and become smoother as it warms. Complex, balanced, with good depth of  flavour. Excellent brew!

Cheers!

Hi Viv,
Yes, they do brew some amazing beers!
I visited that place a while ago, and was impressed by their beers.
They have a beer shop attached, and aslo a great restaurant/bar.
Definitely a place to visit when hitting Wallonia  t_u
Cheers,
Filip
