VLETEREN IMPERIAL STOUT  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Imperial Stout from Deca, with an ABV of 10.0%. New brew for me.

Pours a jet black with good sized light brown creamy bubbly head. Some lacing.

Aroma of chocolate, coffee, mocha, and malts.

It's medium bodied, slick, oily, velvety smooth, perfectly carbonated, and with a nice bite in the finish. At it's coldest there's lots of coffee, plain chocolate, mocha, malts, burnt malts, baking powder, cocoa powder, praline, caramel but as it warms there's more light fruit and hops. Sweet yet dry and very bitter, easy drinking, good level of complexity and depth of flavour, rounded and balanced. Lovely brew, above average for the style.

Cheers!
