VAN BRUGGE 8  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Triple from Beer van Brugge, with an ABV of 8.9%. New brew for me.

Pours a deep golden amber with a huge creamy frothy head. Excellent lacing.

Lovely fresh aroma of hops, herbals, citrus fruits and spices.

It's full bodied, and well carbonated, with a creamy luxurious and smooth
taste and texture. At its coldest it's fresh, crisp and sharp but it mellows a bit as it warms. There's some complexity, and good depth of flavour, but maybe it's just too fruity to be that balanced, with almost an overload of citrus- lemon, orange, lime, along with pear and banana, plus herbals, hops, honey, clove, juniper, and even some Cointreau too as it warms. Initial candy sweetness gives way to a mildy dry and bitter finish. Good brew, better than average for the style.
