DIKKE JAN BRUIN     

Porter from Dikke Jan with an ABV of 8.5%. New brew for me.

Pours a very deep dark burgundy with a nice creamy frothy head. Some lacing.

Malty aroma.

It's thin bodied, and nicely carbonated, with a very soft and light mouthfeel. It has some complexity, with good depth of flavour, and is well balanced. It's creamy and very smooth, with lots of malts, burnt malts, mocha, milk chocolate, coffee, cocoa powder, baking powder, toast, and come caramel. It becomes more hoppy and fruity as it warms, with a dry and bitter finish. Nice brew! Great brew for the style.
