SERAFIJN BARLEY WINE  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Barley Wine from Achilles, now brewed at Pirlot, with an ABV of 11.0%. New brew for me.

Pours a golden amber with a large creamy frothy head. Good lacing.

Aromas of orange peel, herbals, malt and hops.

It's full bodied, and perfectly carbonated. Complex, balanced and with a great depth of flavour it's thick, rich, creamy, smooth and luxurious in taste and texture. At its coldest it has the flavour profiles of a Triple, being crisp, and sharp, with herbals, honey, caramel, with a malt base, but as it warms it takes on a different profile with a warming spicy mouthfeel with lots of spices, especially ginger and pepper, along with grains and citrus fruits. Quite a unique flavour, and one that is outstanding. Excellent brew indeed!

Cheers!
