AERTS DARK  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Double from Aerts, brewed at Pirlot, with an ABV of 7.0%. New brew
and new brewfirm for me. ( the original Aerts brewery ran from 1909
to 1914, then Geels brewed on the premises from 2018, and in
2020 Het Nest and Pirlot working together started Aerts on the site).

Pours a deep rosy ruby amber with a large creamy frothy head. Great
lacing.

Aroma of malts, chocolate, mocha, and cocoa powder.

It's thinnish bodied, and perfectly carbonated. Balanced, with good
depth of flavour and good complexity and layered. Lovely smooth and
creamy texture and taste. There's plenty of malts, caramel, cocoa powder, baking powder, gingerbread, oatmeal, coffee, mocha, spices, and very subtle fruits. Dry and quite bitter it's a great example of the style and not far off the best. Good stuff!

Cheers!
