GRAIN MAN- CLYNELISH  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Barley Wine Barrel Aged in Clynelish Whisky from Bambrass, brewed at de Meester, with an ABV of 14.8%. New brew for me.

Pours a very deep ruby burgundy, with a good sized head which reduces to leave a residue throughout, and some minor lacing.

Strong aroma of whisky and malts.

It's full bodied, and with perfect carbonation levels. Complex, layered, balanced, and with great depth of flavour. Wonderfully rich, smooth, creamy and luxurious in taste and texture. Slick, thick and oily but it still feels light in the mouth. Lots of malts, chocolate, mocha, coffee, caramel, figs, raisins, and prunes. It's sweetish yet dry, and until it has warmed right up it has all the Barley Wine taste profiles and the whisky is very subtle and in the background. However, once warmed the whisky takes over and totally dominates. So similar to several top brews from de Struise! Simply an outstanding brew!
