DOUZE BARLEY WINE  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Barley Wine from de Meester, with an ABV of 11.5%. New brew for me.

Pours a very deep dark ruby burgundy with a small creamy frothy head. Residual lasts throughout and creates some lacing.

Fruity malty spicy aroma.

Full bodied, it's perfectly carbonated with a smooth, soft, filling, creamy, and luxurious taste and texture. Complex, layered, rounded, balanced, and with good depth of flavour. Strongly dominated by malts, with chocolate, caramel, toffee,
mocha, praline, figs, dates, sultanas, cocoa powder and baking powder. Initial sweetness gives way to a long drier and more bitter and spicy finish. Outstanding brew!

Cheers!
