SERAFIJN IMPERIAL STOUT  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Russian Imperial Stout from Achilles, brewed at Pirlot, with an ABV of 10.0%. New brew for me.

Pours jet black with a huge creamy and frothy light brown head. Good lacing.

Aromas of burnt malts, ginger, spices, gingerbread, baking powder, mocha, and coffee.

It's medium to full bodied, and perfectly carbonated with a rich luxurious creamy smooth texture and taste, though it is also oily and slick. Complex, layered, balanced, and with a very strong depth of flavour. Very dry and bitter with lots of chocolate, coffee, mocha, burnt malts, cocoa powder, spices, and you can also
clearly taste the maple syrup too, which is one of the ingredients used. Very good brew!

Cheers!
