LEFORT  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

A Strong Dark Ale from Omer vander Ghinste, now with an ABV
of 10.0%. ( previously 8.5% and 9.0% ). Previously tasted the
9.0% in 2018, so now tasting the latest brew.

Pours a deep burgundy with a large creamy frothy head, which produces excellent lacing.

Hoppy, malty, spicy aroma, with strong banana too.

It's medium to full bodied, with a perfect level of carbonation.
It's rich, luxurious, and silky smooth; sweet and yet also slightly bitter; complex, layered, balanced, with good depth of flavour; lots of caramel, fruit especially banana, dried fruit, roasted malts, hops, mocha, plain chocolate, licorice, slightly sharp hoppy bite throughout. Reminds me a little of Trappist brews; I still prefer the Triple LeFort but only just, it's a close thing now. Outstanding brew.
