DARK NUN  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Imperial Stout from Galea, brewed at Eutropius, with an ABV of 12.5%. New brewery and new brewfirm for me.

Pours a jet black with a quick dissipating tan creamy frothy head. There is a small residue that lasts to the end though.

Aroma of burnt malts, herbal hops, vanilla, coconut, plain chocolate and mocha.

It's full bodied, thick slick and oily, and nicely carbonated. Wow, this brew could easily be from de Struise- same density, same depth of flavour and same mouthfeel! Complex, layered, and balanced too. Dominated by the strong herbal hops throughout, but also lots of burnt malts, dark chocolate, mocha, coffee, coconut,
licorice, vanilla, and stone fruits. Sweet, yet sour to a degree too with a slight puckering inducement, and dry and bitter. Amazing brew!

Cheers!
