DE POES BRUIN  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

Strong Dark Ale from de Poes, brewed with wheat (50%), with an ABV of 8.5%. New brew for me.

Pours a deep very dark burgundy, almost jet black really, with an enormous frothy creamy head, which creates excellent lacing.

Hoppy, malty, spicy floral aroma.

It's medium bodied, and perfectly carbonated, with a wonderful creamy, smooth, luxurious mouthfeel texture and taste. Sharp, bitter, spicy, hoppy, and malty, with good depth of flavour, great complexity, and perfectly balanced. Quite sweet throughout, with plain and milk chocolate, coffee, caramel, mocha, brown sugar,
dates, raisins, plums, roasted malts, phenols, over-ripe bananas, and with a very long spicy and herbal finish. Lovely brew!

Cheers!
