Hi,
Weekend pleasures at Bistro Flandria! (https://bistroflandria.be/)

An excellent place for sitting outside on a sunny terrace, next to the canal.
This place is very popular amongst "pleasure boat" tourists, visiting Bruges.
Bistro Flandria is housed in the peacefully situated beautiful marina of Bruges, with a 350 meter long quay, and a view of the boats.
How fantastic is it that after mooring the boat, you actually step out and have a good beer with tasty food right at the boat's foodstep.

Enough talk......let's enjoy....

Starting with a delicous hoppy sweet Malheur 10. Westmalle tripel for Katrien please :)
Two amazing beers that make you hungry  ;)

We arrived quite late, so dinner time was already on schedule  :fritemayo:

Katrien went for the Croque Boum Boum. A Croque Monsieur with spaghetti sauce.
You can also order two croques for a bit more money.
I choose the spicy spareribs.
Westmalle tripel and Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel to pair.
Notice the QR-code on the Westmalle tripel back label. Yes, the monks are with the modern times  t_u

That food really is very delicious.
The spare ribs were so succulent, moisty, soft...... and spicy.
The Belgian fries were one of the most crispy I ever had. How do they do that ?? Also knowing they stay crispy after let's say 10 minutes, and even much longer.
Nothing hand cut to be precise, but still, such a delight they were. You can also order them separate as a snack (with mayonnaise) along your beer, which many people did that Sunday afternoon. A popular thing over there.

Needless to mention that the beers we had were from a TOP-QUALITY nature....... as was the food  :appauding-1:

This place has become one of our favorit spots here in Bruges. Well deserved!  t_u

Cheers,
Filip

I can see why. The view, the food, and of course the beer all look great. This is another one of your reports that I enjoy so much Filip. It takes me to a place I've never been, and possibly may never get to go, but it still leaves a deep impression on me. After spending most of my day today on freeways sitting in very busy traffic it's so nice to see a report like this to make me realize that the whole world is not a crazy zoo out there.

Cheers! - John

Hi John,
It is a crazy zoo here in Belgium too, believe me.  :drunken_smilie:
Working, working, and finally there is the weekend. I still need to work two Saturdays/month  :ohno-1:
Sunday is our relaxation day, and we do our best to honor that word "relaxation" as best as possible.
No Pain, no gain  :biere_gif:
BTW John, I will do more of those reports. Love it !!!
Cheers,
Filip

Thanks for taking us on another "virtual" trip to more hidden corners  of our beloved Bruges Filip, it's great to read about a bar (and location) you've never heard of....Bistro Flandria looks a fantastic place to unwind.

Cheers

Hi Jay,
I'm always surprised when I consult Tripadvisor for taverns and restaurants, that there are so many places "inside" that old city of Bruges!

The majority of them have never been visited by us, locals! Imagine.

Bruges really is a true paradise  :animated-belgium-flag-image-0  :animated-eat-and-drink-image-

Cheers,
Filip
