Hi everyone

After a break of well over 2 years Linda has just booked our next family holiday, so this September we're off to Malaga, a coastal resort in the Andalusia region of Spain.

We've never been to this region before (being situated at the very bottom of Spain, just 80 miles from the coast of Africa) so we should be in for some good weather.

Now this is a family holiday BUT you know that we'll be visiting a bar or two  :D hey the kids have grown up with us visiting special bars and they enjoy it too

Our apartment is perfectly situated in the centre of town and is surrounded by bars and even a few breweries, so you can expect a beery report on my return. A quick check on Ratebeer shows we're in for a treat.

Hi Jay,
EXCELLENT decision!!!!
We've been to Malaga on several times, already some while ago.
Always nice to do a train trip to nearby Torremolinos  t_u
I was looking at the Ratebeer list and noticed this place: Belgian Bar Het Beste Biertje.

It seems the name has changed into Cervecería Mapamundi since 2011.
This really looks to be one of the better Belgian beer spots in Malaga.
Only by looking at the pictures, I eager to go there  :) Great food too  :bar:

Hi Filip,

It's reassuring to read that you've visited Malaga on more than one occasion, we should be in for a great family break.

The Belgian bar Het Beste Biertje looks like a definite visit, it's located near the harbour and not too far from our apartment.

The bar is the yellow dot, the red dot is our apartment

Hi Jay,
That's about an 11 minutes 1000 metres walk. Very doable.
I also noticed that Central Beers Craft Beer is very close to your staying! (C. Cárcer, 6, 29008 Málaga, Spain)
That's actually just around the corner. A bit further (same direction) is Birras Deluxe Craft Beer Shop & Café.
It seems that your staying location is just PERFECT !!!
That longish park along the harbor is a must-do too. Amazing how many tropical plants, trees are inside that really fantastic park!!
When we visit Malaga, we always visit https://antiguacasadeguardia.com/
This old place offers such a great variety of local wood aged liquor wines. Their tapas are so fresh and tasty too.
We also have some very good memories from Bodega Bar El Pimpi(https://elpimpi.com/) Calle Granada, 62. Wow, their serrano ham dish ! (but not so beery).
Anyway, you sure will have a great Holiday at Malaga. A city that doesn't get bored at any second.
Cheers,
Filip
