Hi Filip, On the old Belgian Beer Board I would enjoy occasionally looking at your "Beery Adventures" section, and even your non beery adventures too. There was so much there that it seemed like every time I'd go back and visit I'd find something that I hadn't noticed before. Do you ever plan on uploading that section again, or is it forever lost?

I'm sure it was probably a lot of work to upload and maintain, and maybe with that much content maybe it got a bit expensive to keep up on the site as well, so I understand if you'd rather not have it or if this current site even allows that much content.

Anyway, thank you once again for all you do here to make the Belgian Beer Board such a wonderful place to spend a little part of our day.

Cheers to you Filip! - John

Hi John,
Great question!

There is positive and there is negative news to mention.
The negative thing is that most of the picture reports need the Flash player to work.
BUT.... Flash player has been discontinued the 1st Jan of this year :(
https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/end-of-life.html
Example: https://www.belgianbeerboard.com/fotoreportages/Koekelare2015/

The good news is that nothing has been deleted!
All pictures are still on the server!
Maybe I can make some kind of slideshows from every single directory.
I see what I can do John !  F_C

Cheers,
Filip

Thank you Filip, but that sounds like an awful lot of work. I know you're already very busy with your own work, then the BBB Facebook page, and this page, as well as just life in general. If it involves making a slideshow from every single directory I don't know if it would be worth it. Thank you though, I'll be perfectly happy enjoying the new beery adventures content posted here and on the Facebook page.

Hi John,
It's not really that difficult. I need to install an extention, which is peanuts really.
There's alot of choice, but they need to be Joomla!4.0 compatible ofcourse: https://extensions.joomla.org/category/photos-a-images/slideshow/
There are paid and free downloads. It's only a matter of picking the best one  F_C
Next year !!!

Filip

Hi John,
I'm working on it !
The main page has now a Photo Gallery clickable button on the right side-bar.
Direct link: https://www.belgianbeerboard.com/index.php?view=article&id=25:photo-galleries-beer-festivals&catid=2
I will try to re-install all of my pictorial beery reports. It is after all very important historic data too!
It sure will take some time to finish. It is a gradual process.
Not all picture reports will work (not on the list yet), as many need to have the defunct Flash player, but there's always solutions for that.
Stay tuned.....
Cheers,
Filip

That's much more easy oufcourse.
The list is huge, and contains alot of broken links.
I will fix as much as possible ---------- >> asap.... and will try tio fix the reports that needed the Flash player.
Cheers,
Filip

Wow, that's nice John !!
It's such a pity that many links don't work anymore, but I still have back-ups on my hard drives here at home.
I will try to re-install the non-Flash player picture reports, and re-install the pictures from the Flash-player needed reports.
It's a lot of work, becasue I made so many reports  :eyes:

Life can be funny that way, when you look back on it. There are times in my life where I look back and think "Was that really me that did all that?" Sometimes it almost feels like another person lived those things. I never captured on film or documented much of it, so I have to go back to my memory and re-live those moments. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

I'm so glad that you captured so many of your adventures with pictures and words. Some of those places I've been to, others I'll never see in my lifetime except in your postings here on the Belgian Beer Board. I'm very thankful that you've shared those places and moments here, and I hope you enjoy looking at those moments in time as much as I do Filip.

Cheers! - John

Hi,

Some work has been done.
There is an Image Gallery button on the main page which gives the older picture reports that don't need the Flash player.
I still need to upload a massive amount of those, because some free webservices like Angelfire stopped with their free services.
In the mean time I removed all the Flash player dependent picture reports in that list.
You'll notice that many links still don't work, but I need to upload these to my server.
https://www.belgianbeerboard.com/index.php/beery-picture-reports

A second button has been installed too, which leads to https://www.belgianbeerboard.com/index.php/phoca-gallery
It was the intention to re-install all the Flash player dependent picture reports.
I say "was" , because I will remove that link, and also the Foca gallery plug-in.
At first, it looked like a great idea, but after all, I do have FlickR with unlimited picture upload !!!
After concidering, it is best that I don't overload my provider with pictures, and redirect towards FlickR.
I will make a link towards https://www.flickr.com/photos/trappist/collections
And from now on, all my picture reports will be put on FlickR !

Folks, that will be a gradual progress, as ALOT of work still needs to be done !!! Patience is a virtue...

Cheers,
Filip

That's wonderful Filip! Thank you for taking the time and effort to do this. These picture reports are an important part of the Belgian Beer Board's history. I hope everyone takes a bit of time to open up a beer or two to enjoy while looking through them. Who knows, you might come across a place you hadn't thought of before that looks interesting and might want to visit on your next beery trip.

Cheers! - John

Yes John, that's quite important.
Knowing I made my first picture report way back in 2002. That's exactly 20 years ago  :o
In the mean time I changed the FlikcR link on the main page towards the "collection" link.
Gradually, that collection will become HUGE !!!! Stay tuned...
Cheers,
Filip

Wowser Filip, it's such fun to once again indulge in these vintage trips and tastings. In an instant a picture can make a fuzzy forgotten memory seem like only yesterday and instantly you're back there, special moments like these need to be preserved  :appauding-1:

Pictures and videos are so precious to me, not long ago I backed up every family holiday, beery trip, days out.....everything. These images of family and friends are so important that I had to make sure I had them saved in as many ways possible (on my laptop, on my iPad, burned to disc, saved on memory sticks and also on Amazon photos)

Here's to making more happy, fun filled adventures with family and friends...see you April  :D

Cheers
