Title: Rodenbach Red Tripel - 8.2 vol%
Post by: Trappist on December 26, 2021, 11:37:37 AM
Hi,
Time for Rodenbach's newest beer!
It's become an 8.2 vol% tripel, made for their 200th anniversary ! Yes, a jubileum beer.
Only available at supermarket chain Colruyt here in Belgium at €8.45 per bottle.

Opening that bottle and savoring was a COMPLETE surprise  :exclamation:
I really expected a lactic sour vintage something.
But no, it is a fruity tripel with a faint hint of wood. Nothing Oud Bruin  :eyes:
This beer is very smooth and soft. Not much carbonation.
The color is copper amber.
My first taste impression immediately gave me Palm Royale!  :eyes: Yes, such a typical Palm flavors there, which greatly explains that softness.
It's a blend from a tripel and an "unknown (secret)" amount of "foederbier" Yes, top-secret  :exclamation:
But strangely enough I also had some fruity (Kriek) notes. Did they also blend with one of their fruit beers ? Yes, possible.

This is possibly one of the most delicate Belgian beers I ever had!
Such a subtle beer ! The 8.2 vol% is hardly noticed, but it sure is that strong, believe me.
That blending that's been done must've taken many hours, days, months to complete. What a masterly blend folks !!!
This beer also KEPT me nosing. What a fantastic delicious nose ! The wood in the nose is such a pleasant experience.
It's also a masterpiece in balance. Nothing, but nothing has been overdone here. Amazing !!!!

A beer to enjoy with alot of attention and care. That delicateness is such a masterpiece.
My upper felicitations towards brewmaster Rudi Ghequire for having achieved such a GREAT jubileum beer.
A beer that is such a justified tribute to the 200 years of Rodenbach brewing !

I want more .....  B_FLAG

Cheers and happy Boxing day.
