A new brew released from de Halve Maan- the Quadruple barrel aged on
bordeaux, calvados and rum barrels. With an ABV of 11.0%. New brew for me.

Pours a deep dark ruby burgundy with a fairly small creamy head. No lacing.

Aroma of malts, hops, spices, and spirits especially brandy and rum. Can I
smell the turkey cooking in the background!?

It's medium bodied, and nicely carbonated with a slightly fizzy effervescence
throughout even though it looks flat. Hugely complex, layered, rounded and with
strong depth of flavour. Smooth and easy drinking although it's definitely a
sipper. Wow! Flavour! Christmas Cake! Nuts- hazelnut brazil pecan, dried fruit-
raisin sultana fig prunes, fruit- cranberry apple lemon zest orange peel, gingerbread,
baking powder, dough, malts, hops, spices- pepper ginger anise, brandy especially
Calvados, whisky, rum and wine. Every sip reveals the layers of flavours. This is
a fantastic brew and is absolutely perfect for Christmas and Winter!
