Hi folks,

Well then, recently Linda has been up to her usual self - that is booking lots of city breaks...yesterday she sprung the news of our 6th upcoming trip.

It was only a couple of weeks back that she surprised me with news that we're off to Porto in Portugal for my birthday in January 🇵🇹 and the bombshell yesterday...next Sunday we fly out for a 4 day break to Seville, Spain.

So that's -

Next week - Seville

November - Amsterdam

January - Porto

March - San Sebastián (yes we're heading back)

May - Copenhagen (MBCC)

September - Bruges

Lots to look forward to, with two new places (Seville and Porto) making lots of happy memories...expect reports on every trip.

Cheers

My goodness Jay, you might as well not bother to unpack your suitcases mate! Some nice destinations you've got booked. Porto is a beautiful city, it reminded me somewhat of San Francisco. It's been 10 years or so since I was there and the beer selection was rather dismal back then, but I've heard it has improved somewhat in recent years. But of course Porto is known for it's wine, so do make a visit to one (or more) of the wineries along the Douro.

Looking forward to your reports Jay   t_u

Wauw Jay,
What a great schedule!!! Top notch.
I've only been once to Porto, but that was very long time. The old times when we went to campings.
Porto is one of our first-priority destinations.
The objective is to rent a car and also go east to visit the wonderful Douro valley and taste their precious Port wines.
You'll have a blast Jay & Linda !!!  t_u  t_u  t_u  t_u

I know what you mean about the similarities with San Francisco John (not that we been to either) but with its steep streets and cable cars there is a passing resemblance.

We're sure to indulge in those famous Port wines Filip, like we did in Malaga at the famous Casa De Guardia.

Hi Jay,

You need to find or join a holiday/travel site as well to post your schedule!

Very impressive, with lots to look forward to there!

Cheers!

Hi folks,

Yesterday we got back from a most wonderful break in beautiful Seville.

It wasn't the beeriest of trips but that in no way detracted from what was one of my memorable Spanish trips (so far)

I'm not back in work until next week so a report will follow soon.

Cheers

Hi Jay,
The pictures on FB were so mouth watering.
Spain sure is one of the best gastronomic countries in the world.
Maybe not the beeriest, but sure the best for food and wine, and so much more ...
Looking forward to the report Jay.
Cheers,
Filip

Well folks, things have changed...we're no longer going to Amsterdam, instead Linda and our Anna have chosen Hamburg in Germany

It should be just as beery and the Christmas markets open just as we arrive, so we're all super excited

Gotta love those Christmas markets there. I was lucky enough to visit a fair number of them in various cities during my visits to Germany, and every one of them was a pleasure. Dress warm, and of course there's always plenty of Gluehwein available to make you forget how cold it is out there.

Jay,
I never went to Hamburg, but I'm sure you'll have a great cozy time over there.
If this is your first visit, it will be something different from Amsterdam, which you already visited. Another experience.
It is very north located, so could be cold in November. Makes it all that more cozy ofcourse. John has already made the suggestions for that.
