Christmas brew from Verhaeghe, now with an ABV of 10.0%. Last tasted in
2016 when the ABV was 7.2%

Pours a deep golden amber with a good sized creamy frothy head. Some
lacing.

Strong hoppy, malty, floral, herbal spicy aroma.

Medium bodied, and nicely complicated. Complex, layered, well balanced,
and excellent depth of flavour, with a real heavyweight quality. There's
malts, hops, caramel, toffee, honey, clove, candy sugar, vanilla, melon,
apple, phenols, banana, florals, herbals, spices. Mellows after initial
coldest taste which is sharp and crisp, but retains its refined mouthfeel.
Smooth, easy drinking, and a slight alcohol warming, as well as
liqueur-like flavours including Drambuie, Cointreau and Calvados.
Fantastic brew, and what an improvement from the earlier 7.2% ABV brew!

Cheers!
