Hi,
Time for an admirable initiative!
Time for an admirable initiative!
An initiative from two bossom friends (nice wordplay) Thomas Rodrigue and Arne Cosyns.
A few years ago already, they released their own beer: Tietje. (=small tit)
A few months ago they came into contact with the founders of the Beautiful After Breast Cancer Foundation (BABC), a foundation that supports people with breast cancer.

From this meeting, the idea of working together grew.
Thomas and Arne waited until October - the international month against breast cancer - to give their Tietjes beer a different label.
The labels were given the color of BABC, the BABC logo was added, as well as a QR code with the text 'let them scan' above it.
Scanning the QR code will take you to a page that tells you more about screening and breast cancer.
Tietje is known to the outside world as a nice blond beer with a nice name. But what many people don't know is that they also have a lot of social objectives behind the scenes.
They believe that with their beer they can make a difference in society. For example, they want to emphasize the importance of preventive breast scans. Because early detection of breast cancer is often the most important parameter in the healing process.

Tietje is contract brewed in Ghent at BeerSelect.
Time for a taste....

They come into nice 4-packs.
The main color is turquoise, referring - as said - to the colors of Beautiful After Breast Cancer Foundation.
Normally, the labels are white, but for that occasion, the colors were changed.
We also see the beer mats with the QR code and the visualisation of after breast cancer image.

A special tasting glass was designed too.

Interesting to mention that Tietje was awarded a double gold medal at the European Beer Challenge™ 2022!

Actually, that result is highly justified.
Great longlasting head.
A nice golden blond beer at 7.5 vol%.
I was mostly impressed with it's hoppy character. The hops keep lingering too.
Satisfying soft mouth feeling too. Crispy, somewhat malty sweetish too.
I also tasted some coriander and orange peel, which makes it a fruity beer.
Everything is in such a great balance, and that really needs some brewing skills.
In other words: Highly Recommended by Yours Truely

Cheers,
Filip
